The $190 million Jordan Poole question on Warriors future gets definitive answer from Bob Myers

Bob Myers gives a definitive answer to the $190 million Jordan Poole question about the future of the Warriors.

In order for the Golden State Warriors to definitively label their current roster as championship-caliber, they need to win four games in a row. Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson's original core had already achieved a great deal. However, as a result of their inexperience, injuries, and the addition of new teammates, their team has had to prove its worth yet again.

Jordan Poole, one of the cast's supporting players, could prove to be crucial in the future. To put it mildly, he's an absolute revelation for the Warriors, averaging more points per game than Stephen Curry while also being more efficient.

This offseason, the Golden State Warriors have the opportunity to sign him to a long-term contract extension. The decision to do so, even at the rookie max rate, would be an easy one for most other teams. However, given that the Warriors have already paid a hefty luxury tax bill, it's unclear if they'd be willing to go that far into financial penalties. As Yahoo Sports' Vincent Goodwill reported, the Golden State Warriors appear ready to make the risk.

Poole may be able to secure a five-year deal worth around $190 million with a rookie scale max contract.

Although he's only in his third season, the good news for the Warriors is that if they can't come to an agreement this offseason, he'll still have one more rookie contract season left. However, it appears that this will not be the case.

The Warriors have the most marketable player in the NBA who isn't named LeBron James, making them one of the most well-liked groups in the league. In other words, it's not hard to see how they'll be able to recoup their investment. The massive luxury tax bill will be brushed aside if Jordan Poole's retention increases the likelihood of another Golden State era.
